A long ways away!

Today we went to see Evie Ukrainian style! First we walked to the Metro near Serg's mom' house, took the Metro five or six stops, switched lines and then took that line to the end. Then we walked a bit to catch a Marshutka...a van/small bus that acts like a taxi...it costs 5 grivnahs to ride from Kiev to Vorzel. The whole trip took about an hour and a half.

This chubby American accustomed to cars and personal space is tired! But we got to see our girl! And yes, my new minivan is sounding pretty good right now.

We won't do the Metro/Marshutka that much, thanks to friends with cars, rides from our facilitator and plans to split taxi costs with other RR families who've come to adopt from Vorzel.

Here's a picture of Evie today. She was quite stuffed up and a little fussy today. I think she may be getting sick.

Also, we talked to our facilitator and it looks like we'll have court next Monday or Tuesday. After that we'll start our ten day wait until we can take her out of the orphanage. Things are moving along!
